Packaging Technician
Founded in 2020, Meanwhile Brewing Co. is a community-driven brewery on 3.7 acres in southeast Austin, where craft beer, food, music, and culture intersect. Meanwhile produces a wide array of world-class beers, including year-round canned offerings such as Meanwhile Pilsner, Secret Beach IPA, and Tender Robot Hazy IPA. One of Austin’s largest independent breweries, it distributes throughout Central Texas, from Georgetown to San Antonio.
We are seeking a passionate, quality-focused, safety-driven, and team-oriented Packaging Technician to join our production team! A quality applicant recognizes that all aspects of the brewing process are critical to putting excellent beer in the hands of our consumers and approaches the work accordingly. We need someone who takes pride in both their work and workplace. Key attributes in this role include a team centric attitude, dedication to cleanliness, and a passion for great beer. - Washes kegs and fills them with delicious beer.
- Assists with canning line operations. Folds trays, packs cases, keeps workspace clean.
- Performs packaging quality checks
- Handles basic packaging, equipment, and facility maintenance.
- Operates a forklift.
- Handles hazardous materials properly.
- Meticulously documents every aspect of the packaging process – every time.
- Has strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Assists with other duties as needed.
- This is a full-time salaried position – that’s 40 hours each week with occasional overtime.
- We’re working with beer here – you gotta be 21 years old.
- It helps if you’re handy and good with machinery.
- This job is physical. You’ll be lifting 55-165 pound kegs, twisting/turning, reaching over your shoulders, climbing stairs, working in hot/cold/wet conditions, bending/stooping, and standing/walking.
- You must be able to work nights & weekends.
- You must conduct yourself professionally while representing Meanwhile Brewing Co. whether in the taproom or at an event/competition.
- You must be open to sharing ideas and suggestions with the team. Help us all be better brewers.
